Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using GrantFound ("the Service"), operated at grantfound.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

GrantFound is a donor intelligence platform that helps nonprofit organizations discover foundations that have funded similar organizations. We provide search, analysis, and export tools based on publicly available IRS 990 filing data.

3. Accounts

Some features require creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

4. Free and Paid Plans

The Service offers both free and paid subscription plans. Free plans are subject to usage limits. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe and may be cancelled at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access through the end of your current billing period.

We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. Price changes do not apply retroactively to active billing periods.

5. Refund Policy

Paid subscriptions include a 14-day free trial. If you cancel during the trial period, you will not be charged. After the trial, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. If you experience a technical issue preventing use of the Service, contact us and we will work to resolve it or issue a credit at our discretion.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download data from the Service beyond normal use
  • Resell or redistribute data obtained from the Service as a competing product
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated tools to access the Service without our written permission

7. Data Accuracy

The data displayed on GrantFound is sourced from publicly available IRS 990 and 990-PF filings. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. IRS filing data may be delayed by 6-18 months from the actual filing date.

The Service is intended for research and informational purposes. You should verify critical information independently before making funding decisions.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and original content, is owned by GrantFound and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The underlying IRS data is in the public domain. Your use of the Service does not grant you ownership of any intellectual property.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GrantFound shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict of law principles.
